Launch of the joint webinar series!

The AMON Project is glad to announce the launch of the webinar series “Innovation for Maritime and Stationary Use“!

The three webinars will be organised with projects that have common features and goals. The purpose is to raise awareness in and get feedback from the respective target groups as well as foster discussion and exchange good practices. The organisation of the webinars is led by the partner EFCF | European Electrolyser & Fuel Cell Forum with the support of Fondazione Bruno Kessler and will take place on the Hydrogen Universe platform.

The webinars are the following:

  • 28 October 2025 “Efficient use of fuels in the maritime sector” with the FUELSOME Project
  • 20 January 2026 “System integration of new technologies” with the SOFREE Project
  • 14 April 2026 “Advantages in using innovative technologies: waterborne & stationary” with the RH2IWER Project

Supported by the Clean Hydrogen Partnership, the AMON Project aims to develop a novel system for the utilization and conversion of ammonia into electric power at high efficiency using a solid oxide fuel cell system. The project deals with the design of the basic components of the system including the fuel cell, an ammonia cracker, ammonia resistant heat exchangers, the engineering of the whole Balance of Plants, and validation of the compliance with ammonia use for all the specific parts and components.

The FUELSOME Project focuses on establishing the technological feasibility of a flexible, scalable, and multi-fuel capable energy generation system based on Solid Oxide Fuel Cells technology specially catered for long-distance maritime shipping.

The SOFREE Project aims to develop a fully future-ready SOFC-based system for combined heat and power generation, this means a versatile system concept for efficient, near-zero-emission, fuel-flexible and truly modular power and heat supply to end users in the residential, commercial, municipal and agricultural sectors.

The RH2IWER Project aims to create a solid basis for the acceleration of hydrogen fuel cell powered inland vessels. Create a basis on which the shipping industry can significantly reduce their environmental footprint and remove emissions from their entire fleet in the future.
